Island Attractions

The weather is perfect in Oahu. The main airport is Honolulu airport - the 22nd busiest airport in the United States. Waikiki, although a very busy spot, has wonderful and timeless Hawaiian charm. The most wonderful thing for tourists of all ages is to head down to the beach on Sunday morning or go surfing in a beach boy canoe. It’s easy for everyone since the beach boys do all the work and it is really great. After our ocean activities we go to restaurants to taste some great island food and listen to live music played by local musicians. Waikiki can provide a fantastic time if you don’t mind hundreds of other tourists and the hustle and bustle of a small city. We don’t mind...There is also the historical town of Kaimuki on the island Oahu. And we visit it because we want to get out of the constant activity of Waikiki. A hip restaurant is a place called Town, where they use fresh products grown on the island. If you are fond of diving and want a more secluded beach experience, drive over the Pali Highway to the little town of for world class snorkeling. The best place for this kind of activity on the island is Hanama Bay. The water is clear and calm and it makes it perfect to see Hawaii’s aquatic world alive with manini, parrot fish or an occasional turtle. Certainly we are visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center, which is famous for its history. This excursion is going to be terrific due to the fact that we are joining the depth Hawaiian experience. We have taken a lot of photos and kept nice memories of the island. All of the performers are on exchange from the South Pacific, giving the shows a truly authentic feel. We have learned some basic hula, ancient crafts and played Hawaiian bowling or Hawaiian checkers just on the beach. The infamous North Shore is a delightful drive and once we arrive at Haliewa with its cult like local following we can see the countryside of the island.
